I set this Forum up in order to help people have a place to ask for help in searching for their missing relatives in any of the tsunami affected areas.
As time goes on, I'm not sure that it is helpful to continue with the Forum as it has served it's main purpose and perhaps now is the time to think about closing it for further postings.
The existing posts can remain for other people to read.
I do know the pain which people who are still searching are going through as I, too, have lost family members in Sri Lanka.
I’d like to leave everyone with some last thoughts :
To those of you who are still searching for you missing loved ones : I wish you good fortune in finding them but, if you are not able to find good fortune, then I want you to know that many thousands of people, around the world, care about you and will continue to feel support for you. You are not alone and I don’t think you ever will be, the enormity of this disaster has made the world a slightly smaller place and has made us all aware that we must take care of each other and that, sometimes, all we have to do is reach out and we will find someone willing to help. I wish you the peace to find a conclusion, whatever that conclusion might be.
To those of you who are helping with the searching : Thank you all for your time and efforts and for so selflessly putting others first. The strength of your commitment has been a wonderful thing to see. The help you have given people has been the most genuine kind of help that anyone can ever offer and that is, a help which requires no thanks and is done for no gain. It is given simply out of care and compassion.
Whatever your faith or belief, I hope that you can all find strength and comfort in it and, although this Forum is closing, please know that the feelings of support and care will continue.
May you all find peace in your hearts.
I will leave the Forum open for another two days and then close it for new postings, unless anyone objects to this?
